Improvers Course – Preparation for the Basic Assessment

The 2026 Improvers course starts on the 2nd March 2026. Open to beekeepers who have at least a season’s beekeeping experience. Find out more, including how to book, here.

Open Farm Sunday at Great Chalfield Manor

Members of West Wilts BKA will be in the Cowshed when Great Chalfield Manor opens its gates for Open Farm Sunday on the 7th June. We’ll bring along some of our beekeeping equipment, a “virtual hive”, and will be happy to answer questions about what’s involved in being a hobby beekeeper, how to support pollinators in our gardens, and what products we can get from our bees apart from honey.

Chippenham Eco Future Fest

On Sunday the 14th June members of West Wilts BKA will be joining other Wiltshire BKA branch members to support the 2026 Chippenham Eco Future Fest. There will be lots of different activities, and we’ll be there to answer about beekeeping. We will also have local honey to sell.

West Wiltshire BKA Taster Day

Wiltshire Bee & Honey Day

Saturday 10 October 2026 10.00 – 16:00

The Corn Exchange, Devizes. FREE entry.

Incorporates the Wiltshire Honey Show. Local honey and hive products for sale. Information on bees and beekeeping, activities for children, information about taking up beekeeping and local beekeeping groups. Talks on a range of beekeeping topics.

Lots to see and do, for beekeepers and non-beekeepers alike.

BBKA National Honey Day

Each year The British Beekeepers’ Association celebrates National Honey Day. This annual events celebrates real honey, sparks critical debates about the sale of adulterated honey in so many of our supermarkets, and highlights the importance of ethical beekeeping practices.
